Questions for Discussion:

  1. Should Canadians be flying out of U.S. airports given that it means lost revenue for Canadian airports and airlines?
  2. How can the Canadian government increase incentives for passengers to not bypass their airports?
  3. Considering that Canadian aviation industry loses billions of dollars because Canadians opt to fly out of U.S. airports, will this lost revenue mean that more Canadians might find themselves out of jobs, especially those working in the aviation industry?
  4. Given the scenario presented in Q 3 above, does this mean that Canadians that fly out of U.S. airports are actually outsourcing jobs to the U.S.?
